VR Meal is a VR game where the player is placed in a dreamlike world full of food. But this world is not your normal world. It is built with food and only food. Whether it be a city, an ice cream wonderland, or a mountain forest side.

The player is supposed to venture into this world of food and seek out food within a certain time limit to get to the next food level.

I love the detail of the food eyes and pots and pans hats on the coconut mountains it made me smile. This game is really whimsical and makes me want to go cook up and eat a bunch of food! I enjoy how the different levels all have different feels to them, like how the city is more vibe-y and the gingerbread house is magical. I think frame rate improvement is the only criticism I have.

Dope game, the map reminds me of Mario. I like the mood and the vibe of the game. makes me feel hungryyy!

Really like the food world that you build by these amazing models. The town and the coconut mountain in the screenshots looks really cute and creative. Your skybox also create a magical atmosphere, which is really nice.Even it is not working in VR, it is still a interesting 3D walking sim.

NOTES TO EMILY (MYSELF)

  • try to spend more time next time on making the mechanics function and playable at the same time sketch and draw the world out before you head in and work on it.
  • STOP PROCRASTINATING AND PRIORITIZE SCHOOL OVER WORK.
  • additional sound effects on mechanics of player grabbing, eating, timer..etc -reduce high expansive texture in the scene -reduce blender files mesh (try more ways -frame rate problems : it lags really bad
  • ask prof for help and stop being shy : how to connect the timer trigger using a bool after player triggers an object–to the scoring system set to true and check if the player is running out of time and they did not score 100%, triggers to another ui scene or object display that players lost. if the player is running out of time and they did score 100%, switch scene should set to true or active at the same time there should be a direction display telling the player that they should head to the gingerbread house to go to the next level.
  • another mechanics is to reload all of this code if players select restart? or just use the previous code for reloading the scene if player touched enemy or something -hand control was working for a little bit then it messed up the settings in unity—you have to check all of the settings in unity to make sure oculus is checked under android in project setting or preference i think*––> this is the reason why you had trouble with displaying the vr game in your vr head set.(it showed up as a scene inside an 2d screen or it does not display

This seemed like a really fun concept. I am sorry that the vr seen had a few backend issues but the game looks great. I love the small food details that grow and composite the level design. A part of me wishes to be able to see it fully. I think a video would help display this for people who cant view it. Other then that you did a great job.

Even though the VR scene didn't work, I love the theme and the art of this game! Just on the aspect of the game art, I think the lighting in scene 1 and 3 could be improved to communicate the vibe better, but overall I think you guys did a great job with the modeling ^o^
